STEREO EVENTOS

Stereo Eventos is a radio production piece for the curatorial project "Transmisiones", to be shown at 41 Salón Nacional de Artistas in Colombia, representing the Central Region (Bogota and its sorrundings) . The idea of "Transmisiones" was to avoid the traditional gallery/museum system and explore the “real” context in which cultural production and distribution ("transmition") was happening around the Bogota-Cundinamarca area. The curators made a previous research, examining places that presented artistic opportunities, and then, assigned specific locations to specific artists. Due to its local DIY radio history, the rural town of Ubala, Cundinamarca was assigend for the Stereo Eventos project.

A week-long radio workshop, Stereo Eventos was based in Ubala's Public School. The process aimed to create a link between the local radio station and the high school students, providing the station with school-made material, teach and train students and teachers in basic newswriting and contemporary, computer-based audio recording while documenting the project to be shown at the National Art Exhibition. Each grade recorded and broadcasted their own radio show during the week, landing a school-spot in primetime at the local radio station and the recordings traveled the country in the Transmisinoes "Jukeobx"
