"Slack, you workers" is a series of circular neoprene webcam backdrops (called "Webarounds") printed with a selection of viral photographs from the Colombian National Strike of 2021. Re-Contextualized into props for virtual work, the images fit into a framework of capitalist production from which they establish an ideological tension with the device's intended use. The series synthesizes the tension between the different labor perspectives in the strike's communal discourse. These ambiguous objects will potentially permeate the academic, social, and work spaces of the Internet, generating a contradictory virtual moment in which unemployment and work merge simultaneously.
