An interactive installation presenting a modified version of “Pro Evolution Soccer” in which the Zapatista Army of National Liberation (EZLN) is introduced as a new feature

"Pro Revolution Soccer" is an interactive installation that presents a modified version of the popular soccer videogame Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) in which the Zapatista Army of National Liberation (EZLN) is introduced as a new feature. This piece is inspired by the lasting relationship between EZLN and the Italian soccer club Inter Milan, and by a mythical football match for which EZLN challenged Inter but never took place. The work takes advantage of the inherent entropy found in computer operating systems to act as a metaphor for the intervention of capitalist structures, activating the presence of the Zapatista movement through a contemporary storytelling platform. This intervention in the video game configures an autonomous zone within a macro-structure modeled by global capital which —most like EZLN— represents an alternative to the historical crisis of revolutions that are defined by the takeover of a system.
